Suspect breaks into off-campus UMD student's home

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (WUSA9) -- Police are searching for a suspect who entered a female University of Maryland student's home located on Knox Road in College Park early Sunday morning.

Prince George's County Police Department informed the University of Maryland Police Department that the burglary happened in the 4600 block of Knox Road, in Old Town, College Park around 4:15 a.m. Sunday.

The suspect peered into the victim's bedroom and then fled when questioned, authorities said.

The student was not hurt and nothing was taken from her home, police said. Officers were not able to find any suspects in the vicinity.
