COLLEGE PARK, Md. (WUSA9) -- Maryland Terrapins fans should expect a longer line for security at basketball games this season.

The University of Maryland announced Monday night that all future athletic events at the university will have increased security measures. This includes the men's basketball game Tuesday night against Georgetown and the football game Saturday against Indiana.

Fans are allowed to bring small bags up to 8-inches by 11-inches by 12-inches large in the arena, the university said. All other items, including backpacks, will not be allowed.

The university is advising fans to leave early for games to avoid longer security lines.
