UMD student robbed in College Park, suspect wanted

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (WUSA9) -- A University of Maryland student was robbed in College Park Friday night, the University of Maryland Police Department said.

The robbery happened around 9 p.m. off-campus in the 8800 block of 34th Avenue in College Park, police said. A male student was walking when the suspect went up to him, authorities said. The suspect stole the victim's belongs and then fled on foot in the direction of Metzerott Road.

No weapons were used in the robbery, police said.

Prince George's County Police Department is investigating the robbery.
